Château Cheval Blanc in Saint-Emilion (33)
All of Château Cheval Blanc's 39 hectares are now managed in line with the principles of living soil farming. The soils are not tilled, they are sown with plant cover and green fertilisers, ensuring soils’ self-fertility by stimulating their microbial life.
Around 3,000 trees planted at the very heart of the plots of land offer corridors, nesting spots and habitats to a biodiversity that is more essential than ever to protect and conserve our soils and vines. Different flocks, sheep, fattened chickens and pigs live together with the plant life, maintaining and enriching the plots of
land. Beehives are scattered around the plots of land. In short, a circular economy has been established across the estate, which is a pioneer in the field.
