Château Guiraud in Sauternes, Gironde

Founded in the 18th century, Château Guiraud was classified as a premier grand cru in 1855. Since 1996, the estate has adopted an organic approach that promotes biodiversity. With over two hundred varieties of fruit and vegetables, plants and flowers and the installation of bird nesting boxes and insect hotels, they have composed a real “biodiversity garden”. In 2001, Château Guiraud created its own Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc strain bank to maintain the diversity of the grape varieties and ensure the vineyard's longevity.

Guided tour: Sunday 3rd October from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm
Château Guiraud is a pioneer in many areas and uses 100% natural environmental practices. The planting of hedges of various species, the management of the natural grassing of the rows of vines, the establishment of bird nesting boxes and insect hotels partly illustrate our commitment to the preservation of biodiversity and the ecological fight.
